Let me start by saying I was born in the State of Florida into a family of bloodier Georgia Red. It is a growing area of hostile as fans Bulldogs. Somehow I managed to come out the other side of childhood as fans as usual, despite being tortured by the Florida Gators (most of them are my closest friends) for many years. The point is, like so many college football fans across the nation are great, location is not always define Your allegiances-family run in-fandom.
My beloved Georgia Bulldogs (7-2) has only a few must-win situation at 31 years I have been here. Looking forward to The Deep South's oldest rivalry against Auburn this weekend, I am stretched to find a better example of one. What season it had become.
I play rock music in the band Yellowcard. The same vein the band I and my team at this point in time is amazing. At the end of 2010 the future of the band I was very uncertain. We have just finished recording our first album in three years after having spent two years trying to old "indefinite hiatus." The Bulldogs finished the season 2010 6-7 to the Liberty Bowl loss to the University of Central Florida Knights in the game where we could not manage a single goal. We lost the first in 14 years. The Program's future looks like for sure as my own, but there is something in the world, music and football, about saying, "there's always next year."
The Band we set out our first run headlining shows in the past five years which will take us all over Europe and the States just before the 2011 kick. In addition to my family, two things I love most in life is my band and the Bulldogs. I am really excited to see the good things that build back this fall. Georgia began the year ranked 19 and was heading to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta to take the number 5 Boise State. We have not opened against top-5 team since the 1965 season, when we beat the defending national champion Alabama by one point. Shows in Europe are all amazing for us. It seems the band firing on all cylinders again. So get big Dawgs … do the same?
