over 100 Greenville artist will open its doors this weekend for the 10th annual open studio. In doing so, they will give visitors an insight into the creative process, displaying a particular medium, it might sell some of their work, and in the process of increasing scope and depth of the vibrant art scene that can be found in our society. Studio open is one of the event which started in Greenville and must have evolved beyond the wildest dreams of its founders. This has helped make the city great art that Greenville had become, and its success also reflects public art that is energetic and thrive here.
Open studio is the premier weekend for local artists. On Saturday and Sunday, 124 artists will open studio. They will present their work and also discusses the creative process that goes into their work. Official hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 6 PM some of the artists will be extended hours or open on Friday.
Open Studios is sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, SEW Eurodrive and the Metropolitan Arts Council, and the weekend event is free. Studio open started in 2002 with a budget of $ 5,000 and a small group of local artists. This year's budget is over $ 200,000. The highest record sales last year of $ 233,950, and so the visit 63,070.
